Terms of Service
Last updated: April 11, 2026 · Effective immediately
Welcome to Knowledge Base. By accessing or using the service (“Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). Please read them carefully. If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not access or use the Service.
1. Description of Service
Knowledge Base is an LLM-powered personal knowledge compilation platform. The Service ingests content from various sources you connect, extracts concepts and entities using large language models, and builds a searchable, interlinked personal wiki that grows with every source you add.
The Service consists of a Python backend, a Next.js frontend, a local SQLite database with full-text search, and optional cloud hosting. The Obsidian-compatible wiki output is yours to export at any time.
2. Account Registration
To use the Service, you may need to create an account through our authentication provider (Clerk). You agree to provide accurate information, keep your credentials secure, and accept responsibility for all activity under your account. You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service.
3. User Data & Ownership
Your data belongs to you. All content you ingest, wiki pages generated from your sources, query answers, and associated metadata remain your intellectual property. We claim no ownership over your knowledge base content.
We do not sell, share, or use your personal knowledge base content for training AI models, advertising, or any purpose other than providing the Service to you. You can export your entire knowledge base at any time in standard Markdown format.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or to promote illegal activity
- Ingest copyrighted content you do not have the right to process or reproduce
- Attempt to circumvent usage limits, rate limits, or security measures
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of proprietary components
- Use the Service to generate, store, or distribute harmful, abusive, or misleading content
- Share your account credentials or allow unauthorized access to your account
5. LLM-Generated Content
The Service uses large language models to summarize, extract, and synthesize information from your sources. While we strive for accuracy, LLM-generated content may contain errors, hallucinations, or inaccuracies. You are responsible for reviewing and verifying any information before relying on it for important decisions.
6. Integrations & Third-Party Services
The Service connects to third-party platforms (Notion, RSS feeds, Hacker News, Reddit, YouTube, etc.) at your direction. Each integration only accesses data you explicitly authorize. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or terms of service of third-party platforms.
7. Service Availability
We strive to maintain high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service may be temporarily unavailable for scheduled maintenance, updates, or unforeseen technical issues. We will make reasonable efforts to provide advance notice of planned downtime.
8. Pricing & Payment
Free tier users receive access to core features with usage limits. Paid plans are billed on a monthly or annual basis. Prices may change with 30 days’ notice. Refunds are available within 14 days of initial purchase if you are unsatisfied with the Service.
9. Termination
You may terminate your account at any time through Settings. Upon termination, you will have 30 days to export your data before it is permanently deleted. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, with notice when feasible.
10. Limitation of Liability
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any data loss, inaccuracies in LLM-generated content, service interruptions, or indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.
11. Intellectual Property
The Service’s design, code, branding, and documentation are protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service for its intended purpose. Open-source components are governed by their respective licenses.
12. Modifications to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or an in-app notification at least 14 days before taking effect. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
13. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes will be resolved through binding arbitration in San Francisco, California.
